Gary Weitzen is the Executive Director of POAC Autism Services (Parents of Autistic Children), which is the largest provider of free autism training and education in the state of New Jersey. Gary came to POAC with twenty years experience in the risk management field. In addition to his duties at POAC, for the past fifteen years he has worked for an autism program as a teacher of life skills to adults with autism. Mr.Weitzen, has served as the New Jersey representative for Unlocking Autism, and Vice President of Princeton Autism Technology, and comes to POAC with 20 years of experience in the risk management field.

Gary has personally trained over 72,000 First Responders in Autism Recognition and Response and has developed specialized training for the medical community. He has been a keynote speaker at the National EMS Convention, National School Nurse Convention, NJ State PBA Convention, NJ Transportation Convention, Unlocking Autism National Convention and has provided over 1,500 lectures at conferences throughout the state.

Mr. Weitzen is a certified law enforcement instructor with the NJ Police Training Commission, a member of the Ocean County Crisis Intervention Team, a First Responder with his local EMS squad, a member of the National Association of Search and Rescue, a Gulf War Veteran and serves as a Special State Officer on the New Jersey Governor’s Council on Autism.
